⚠️ The Expert Check: Is My System Ready?

Whether activation is stably possible (especially for ID4) or if a software flash becomes necessary can be determined by the version of the navigation map.

• How to check: In iDrive, go to Navigation -> Settings -> Position and Version -> Version Information.
• The letter decides: The version always starts with “NBTevo_...”. The letter at the end of the first line (e.g., H, J, K, L, M or N, O, P, Q...) tells us exactly which activation method is right for your vehicle.
• Important note for ID4 (versions H to M): These early NBT Evo versions absolutely require a special software procedure to enable CarPlay without constant system reboots. We perform this process safely on-site.

Apple CarPlay in BMW works exclusively wirelessly via WLAN. However, the required WLAN antenna was only installed ex-works if the "Telephony with Wireless Charging" or "CarPlay" option was ordered.
